We’re Hiring

Position: Career Coach

We are looking for an experienced career coach to join our team of coaches and provide 1:1 coaching to our clients.

This is a part-time position of approximately 10 hours per week. You’ll have lots of flexibility to set your own hours and continue running your own coaching practice or working for another company part-time.

As a career coach, you will hold one-on-one sessions with clients. We (A Path That Fits) will refer clients to you and you will manage the client relationship from start to finish. This includes having an initial free consultation with clients to determine if they are a good fit and enroll them in your services.

At A Path That Fits, our work is primarily focused on helping people find more meaningful careers. Most of our clients are wondering what to do next, feeling burnt out by unfulfilling work, and looking for a deeper calling. We pride ourselves on helping clients balance the quest for deep meaning and purpose with the need to build a financially sustainable career. Some of our clients also want help landing a job.

Most of the clients that you work with one-on-one will also be participating in the Career Pathfinder Group Coaching Program that provides an online course with structured coaching activities and career assessments that guide clients to discover their calling and make a career change.

While our business is based in San Francisco, and the majority of our clients are from the San Francisco Bay Area, we now hold all sessions virtually due to the pandemic.

 Training

Training is included to get you up to speed on our specific career coaching method and online curriculum but you are expected to already know how to coach people in all aspects of a career change from clarifying what career is right to helping them land the job.

Here are the coaching skills and
areas of expertise we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience actively coaching/counseling clients on the issue of career change
  • Are passionate about “pathfinding” aka “helping people find their calling and make career changes”
  • Know how to hold a deep space for self-discovery and exploration
  • Can also be practical and solutions-focused and have your finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the current career/business landscape
  • Skilled at navigating the deeper waters of resistance to change including fear, anxiety, lack of confidence, etc.
  • Have enough in the way of sales ability to enroll prospective clients in coaching during a phone consultation (we definitely don’t do any pushy selling!)
  • Are up to date on the latest and greatest job search strategies from crafting a targeted resume to networking and interviewing
  • Can work independently with little supervision

Type of Position

  • This is a part time position.
  • Approximately 10 hours per week. It will take a little bit of time to ramp up but we’d like to see you have an ongoing client roster of 10-20 clients which would require about 10 hours per week of your time.
  • You have the flexibility to schedule sessions when it works for you and your clients.

Compensation

  • Compensation will vary based on your experience but you’ll be paid somewhere between $150-$175 per 1 hour session.
  • This is a part-time 1099 contractor position without benefits.
