A little bit about Jabali

As a career, life, and purpose coach, I am committed to empowering you to find and create deep meaning and fulfillment in your personal and professional life and engage in work that is an expression of your truest most authentic self.

Originally born and raised in San Francisco, my circuitous path to coaching can be traced back to the work I’ve done and continue to do as an educator. Numerous twists, turns, and professional pivots have led me from teaching middle school science, to founding and running the country’s first single-sex public charter school serving predominantly Black males, helping found a non-profit digital learning organization currently serving over 6,000,000 students, working at a graduate school of education training and supporting teachers and leaders working in our nation’s high-needs public schools, and helping run a non-profit organization supporting youth and adults to explore, articulate, and pursue their purpose.

My personal career journey has always been rooted in the transformative power of creating spaces and experiences that promote connection, belonging, impact, advocacy, growth, development, and joy. Whereas all of my professional experiences have been incredibly rewarding and meaningful in their own right, they’ve also served a deeper and more foundational role in my life, guiding me towards my true calling, coaching. My approach to coaching, an extension of my personal mission, focuses on helping develop expanded self-awareness and an increased capacity to live, work, and lead in greater presence and alignment to your sense of purpose. As a coach, I am committed to supporting you in your efforts to fully flourish and thrive in your career and as a human being.

My formal training was through Presence Based Coaching, a coaching framework anchored around mindfulness and somatic practices.

When I’m not coaching I strive to maintain a life of service by serving on a number of boards including the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy, the Robin Hood Foundation, Summer Search National, Uncommon Schools in New York City, The German School of Brooklyn, and Breakthrough Collaborative.

I’m also a photographer, a runner, and a reader. I currently live in Brooklyn with my son. I am grateful to do this work.

“For the first time in my career, I felt seen and understood. Each session, Jabali asked thought provoking questions to improve my understanding of self and purpose as I navigate the world. While a professional transition can feel uncertain, Jabali masterfully created a safe space to answer tough questions that evolve into action. After a handful of sessions, I had a clear understanding of how to navigate my transition (and everyday life) with assertiveness and authenticity. Now that I have successfully made my transition to a full-time role, I’ll carry Jabali’s knowledge and wisdom with me.”

"Jabali supported me through a period when I was deeply indecisive about a professional transition. From my very first coaching session, Jabali created an atmosphere of comfort and care through his deep listening and warm personality. What has stood out to me the most were his thoughtful and incisive questions, which sparked new insights and helped me gain clarity on what really mattered to me. I've left his coaching sessions feeling more connected to who I am and how I can use my identity and values to guide my next steps."
