A little bit about Nicole
I didn’t always have a career that I loved. For years I struggled to find a career that I was truly passionate about. I finished college with a Journalism degree and entered the workforce right as the recession hit and also when traditional print media companies were downsizing to go fully digital. So, I sucked it up and took the first job I could that I was qualified for. This is what people do, right? Not everyone is so lucky to find a perfect job that checks all the boxes. At the end of the day, you really just need to collect a paycheck. At least, this is what I was telling myself. And I continued down that path for the better part of the next decade.
Fast forward 10 years. I’m working as a director at one of the fastest growing tech companies in Silicon Valley. On paper and by others’ standards, I had a successful career as a people manager. I loved working with my direct reports to guide them in growing their skills, busting through roadblocks and achieving things they didn’t think were possible. And still, something was missing. A trusted colleague of mine suggested I look into coaching courses and the rest, they say, is history. I was lucky that I had a person in my life who knew that there was more for me out there and gave me the push I needed to chase after that and not settle for “good enough for now.”
I believe that every person deserves to find meaningful, fulfilling work that allows us to share our unique gifts and talents with the world. This is why I’m thrilled to be in charge of client enrollment for A Path That Fits and why the mission of our career coaching programs resonates so strongly with me. As a coach, I love witnessing the “lightbulb” moments and sparks of joy when someone finds a career that is a true, mirror-image expression of who they are. This is the work that fills my cup and aligns with my path.
